The ACI Maverick / PMI Trracer

The first and only pump I own, and what a deal! The pump marker itself is less than $150, thrown on a $6 50 round hopper and a $30 3.5oz c02 tank and you now own an extremely light, small profile and lethal recreational marker. The freedom you feel when you run around with no vest and no podpack. Just you, your mask and your maverick.

The primitive mechanical clunky feel of the pump handle isnt as fluid as a phantom or a pump kitted series 5, but its no less effective. The marker is completely field strippable with no tools required as everything is basically held together with 4 thumb screws ( 2 on the pump handle and 2 on the grip frame ). Internally there are only 4 parts: the ASA ( air source adapter) & valve, a spring, the sear tripped bolt and a front bolt attached to the pump handle.

The stock barrel is a large .692 caliber with NO porting. This marker has a very distinct FART!! sound and isn’t at all ideal for being covert. Another comical feature is the lack of any sort of ball retention in the chamber, no detents, if you cock it and point the marker downwards your paintball will roll out the end. This is no fun for shooting downhill :D

Even though this is an older model marker, parts for repair arent too hard to find, they are out there. As for upgrades J&J still makes Trracer threaded barrels and I highly recommend a newer quieter barrel to try and deaden the FART!! The only other upgrade / modification I’ve seen is a bottom line adapter kit that connects from where the ASA is now to a new ASA on the bottom of the grip with some macroline or steel braid.

If your budget is tight, and you want to try pump play, I cant recommend the ACI Maverick / PMI Trracer enough.
